Oscar Wilde’s The Selfish Giant

A new Folk Opera by Guy Chambers

The Selfish Giant has a beautiful garden, but he won’t let any of the children play in it. Winter comes and never leaves. The Giant looks over his garden from his tall window. What will he do?

The Selfish Giant - a new folk opera adapted from Oscar Wilde's classic children's story - is produced by former Shakespeare's Globe artistic director Dominic Dromgoole’s production company, Classic Spring, directed by Bill Buckhurst and with music by three-time BRIT and Ivor Novello award-winning composer, Guy Chambers, who has written No. 1 songs with Robbie Williams including Angels, Feel and Let Me Entertain You.

The Selfish Giant was showing at the Royal & Derngate Theatre, Northampton from the 4th-7th April and the Vaudeville Theatre, London from the 10-14th April.

An album of the soundtrack to this magical folk opera can be downloaded and purchased here.
